Newly crowned Mid Atlantic Champion, Valedictorian Rob Eckos charts some unfamiliar waters when he steps into the ring in singles competition to defend the title against former Mid Atlantic Champion, popular, Chase Del Monte.
Del Monte and Eckos are about as equal in experience and skills as you can get which should prove to be an exciting and hard fought match from the opening bell. But one has to wonder how fair it will really be? After all, where goes one Valedictorian, (Rob Eckos)
there goes another Valedictorian, (Billy Bax) not far behind. That my friends, could be a
deciding factor in the outcome of this match.
Chase Del Monte is calling for officials to ban Bax from ringside so the contest will be a fair one. Strangely enough, Rob Eckos surprised officials and Del Monte when he released a statement recently that Bax would not be in his corner for the match. If he is true to his word, this could turn out to be one of the hardest fought, evenly matched, Mid Atlantic Title matches in recent ECWA history. Given that scenario, let’s look at both the Champion and Challenger.
Rob Eckos, made his name in the ECWA as a tag team champion along with Billy Bax. Together they made history that no one has come close to surpassing. Eckos is quite skillful in singles competition as well. Before coming to the ECWA, he was primarily a singles wrestler. Rob Eckos, has a great mind and is a master of ring psychology. He has a million dollar body and possesses the skills and power to back all that up. This ECWA Hall of Famer has been at the top of the roster for years and it will be hard for anyone to get that title away from him now that he has a taste of singles competition glory.
Popular Chase Del Monte, feeds off the responsiveness of the crowd. The more they get behind him, the more he accomplishes. His skills and abilities have carried him to that title before and he is in hopes of once again wearing it. He like Eckos, possesses great technical skill and a fire that ignites deep within his soul that becomes unbridled in that squared circle. He would like to leave that night with that title and he claims, if Eckos brings a fair fight, he has a good chance to dethrone the Champion. Del Monte is still preparing for the extreme and will have a weary eye in the back of his head, looking for the foul play that Eckos is sometimes noted for.
No matter which way it unfolds, it promises to be an exciting clash of two equally skilled ring technicians who have one goal in mind. To leave the show that night as Mid Atlantic Champion! |
