ECWA PRO WRESTLING
Heavyweights vs. The Super 8's

By: Josh Martin

The young Heavyweights (Sean Royal & Dan Eckos) reunited at our last event after they were tricked by The Valedictorians. The young duo immediately challenged the legendary team to a tag match and with the fans clearly behind them the Heavyweights upset The Valedictorians. After the match while the Heavyweights were celebrating and doing their traditional posing in center ring, the frustrated Valedictorians tried to sneak attack them. Sitting in the audience watching from the bleachers were Frankie Arion & Scott Reed, both of whom competed in the ECWA Super 8 Tournament in late 2008. Watching the sneak attack about to take place, Arion and Reed rushed the ring and chased The Valedictorians out, keeping them from sneak attacking the Heavyweights. Everyone in the crowd was grateful, but none more grateful than the Heavyweights themselves. They were happy that Reed & Arion kept them from getting attacked. After the incident The Heavyweights, being the true gentlemen that they are, turned to thank Reed & Arion for looking out for them.
What happened next had the crowd sitting there in disbelief.

Frankie Arion and Scott Reed shook the hands of the Heavyweights and then viciously attacked them. To add insult to injury, the team of Reed & Arion took the microphone and stood over their fallen victims and berated them. They even challenged the Heavyweights to a match on March 7. Though the Heavyweights were incapacitated and down, the fans of the ECWA let Arion & Reed know in uncertain terms that what they did was wrong. It didn’t seem to bother the two former Super 8 competitors as they left the area through the side door. The poor little Heavyweights had to be helped to the back.

Well on March 7, the challenge is answered as The Heavyweights will meet Frankie Arion & Scott Reed (the team now known as) The Super 8’s. It was disappointing to see how Arion & Reed acted, especially when performances in the Super 8 Tournament are very dignified and true to sportsmanship and pure wrestling. Their actions last show was anything but pure and dignified. This time there may be a different story as they will have to meet the young Heavyweights face to face in the center of the ring. It will be a tremendous tag team match to open our March 7 ECWA show. Don’t miss it!
