NXT Star Deonna Purrazzo defends ECWA Womens Championship this Saturday in New Castle, DE

ECWA Women’s Championship match set for February 20

The ECWA Women’s Championship has become a topic of hot discussion over the last few months. Why? Deonna Purrazzo has quickly made herself one of the most respected, hard working, and sought after women on the independent wrestling scene. For her, it all started back in October when she won the ECWA Women’s Super 8 Tournament plus the then vacant ECWA Women’s Championship. After that it was a whirlwind end to 2015 and start to 2016! She went from trying to prove herself to suddenly being THE woman everyone wanted a piece of seemingly overnight. Not only did she defend her ECWA Women’s Championship against  most of the field of eight from the tournament but she also appeared on everyone’s TV screens… the beautiful brunette made appearances for Ring of Honor, TNA Impact, and most notably recently numerous appearances for WWE’s NXT brand… fueling speculation of a future signing with the company.

Deonna Purrazzo certainly is the fastest rising star in women’s pro wrestling!

However, all that exposure breeds jealously among her contemporaries. Recently, Deonna captured the Monster Factory Women’s Championship, defeating Super 8 competitor Miranda Vionette. So naturally when ECWA announced that she would defend her ECWA Women’s Championship against Vionette in January it raised a lot of eyebrows. Of course, Miranda Vionette would be hungry for revenge and look to steal the spotlight from the rising Purrazzo.

In a highly contested match, Vionette and Purrazzo went move for move but it was the champ taking home the victory in the end… they celebrated together in a mark of sportsmanship and respect…. Or so it seemed.

Vionette would deliver a brutal clothesline to Purrazzo leaving the exhausted champion helpless in the ring. Obviously, there is no respect there anymore. A simple raising of the ECWA Women’s Championship has made one thing clear… Miranda Vionette wants that championship!

What makes this even more interesting is the fact that later in the evening, Vionette was revealed to be the newest and first female member of the Pan Corp Agency… lead by the sleazy AJ Pan. Why did she join up with the PCA? Was she approached by Pan himself? Or is she so jealous of Deonna’s success, some of which is at her expense, that she’s willing to do anything… and I mean anything… to get to the mountaintop and take the ECWA Women’s Championship?

Deonna Purrazzo doesn’t care. Being a fighting champion, she immediately requested and was granted a return match for Saturday February 20 as ECWA presents “Winter Challenge” in New Castle, Delaware.

It’ll be Deonna Purrazzo vs. Miranda Vionette for the ECWA Women’s Championship.

Can Deonna continue the hottest streak in pro wrestling and once again prove why she’s getting all the attention she is?

Or will Vionette’s newfound alliance with the PCA prove to be the decided factor in her winning the ECWA Women’s Championship… thus stealing the spotlight from Purrazzo.

This will surely be a bitter fight with the ultimate prize on the line!
