Payne vs. Payne Anything Goes in New Castle, Delaware

Payne vs. Payne II- Anything Goes

ECWA has had it’s fair share of battles over the years. Friends have betrayed each other, tag teams have forever been splintered, and blood has been spilled. This time around it seems different. The Extreme Rednecks were the ECWA Tag Team Champions. Chuck & Kyle Payne were both rookies essentially when they formed the team… and they quickly became a dominant force to be reckoned with. They went through almost every single team that ECWA management threw at them and in convincing fashion. However, sometimes in a young wrestlers career early success can lead to complacency. The Rednecks had a long series of miscues all of a sudden in almost every match, tag team or solo.

It seemed they argued over every trivial disagreement and the losses started to pile up. Kyle Payne felt that Chuck was never there when he needed him. That somehow along the line he went soft and the man well known for being a powerful monster had lost his edge and what made him deadly in the first place. Of course, Chuck disagreed and tried to prove him wrong… but it just seemed everything made Kyle angrier and angrier.

Then one day it happened…

Kyle Payne snapped! He would brutally assault Chuck after a singles loss to Breaker Morant. Beating him down and then eventually dropping him with a cutter suplex onto a stack of chairs in the middle of the ring. That’s when it got even stranger…

Kyle would release a video with an almost cult like feel where he explained he did it to awaken the monster inside Chuck. To once again make him the deadly beast he used to be. Indeed, he did awaken a monster… and Chuck Payne was out for blood.

Last month at New Year’s Resolutions V, Chuck would take on Kyle in what promised to be a brutal grudge match. It didn’t disappoint. From bell to bell, they destroyed each other. They dropped each other on the ring apron, threw each other into walls, and blasted each other with chair shots. The arena had become their war zone!

ECWA management and security could do little to break up this battle. Eventually Chuck would down Kyle with a splash onto the metal bleachers near the ring. In the aftermatch, Kyle laughed. That’s right with bruises and blood trickling from his nose, Kyle Payne was obviously pleased with himself and pleased with how Chuck reacted.

It seems he got exactly what he wanted.

But now there’s unfinished business. ECWA management realized there is no way to have a proper match between these two former tag partners. So they thought of an idea that will hopefully end this war for good… on Saturday February 20, 2016 ECWA returns to New Castle, Delaware… it’s “Winter Challenge”… and what better way to return to the state of Delaware than a huge match that will set the arena and fans on fire!

It will be Chuck Payne vs. Kyle Payne again… this time in a REDNECK RUFFHOUSE MATCH where ANYTHING… and I mean ANYTHING GOES!

All weapons are legal… they can battle anywhere in the building and out they want too… and they can essentially destroy each other to their heart’s content.

Will either one of these men be able to walk out of this match?

Will Kyle Payne regret “bringing the monster” out in Chuck?

Only time will tell as this promises to be EXPLOSIVE! It’ll be a battle for the ages in the ECWA!

BROTHERS COLLIDE! ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!

NXT Star Deonna Purrazzo defends ECWA Womens Championship this Saturday in New Castle, DE

ECWA Women’s Championship match set for February 20

The ECWA Women’s Championship has become a topic of hot discussion over the last few months. Why? Deonna Purrazzo has quickly made herself one of the most respected, hard working, and sought after women on the independent wrestling scene. For her, it all started back in October when she won the ECWA Women’s Super 8 Tournament plus the then vacant ECWA Women’s Championship. After that it was a whirlwind end to 2015 and start to 2016! She went from trying to prove herself to suddenly being THE woman everyone wanted a piece of seemingly overnight. Not only did she defend her ECWA Women’s Championship against  most of the field of eight from the tournament but she also appeared on everyone’s TV screens… the beautiful brunette made appearances for Ring of Honor, TNA Impact, and most notably recently numerous appearances for WWE’s NXT brand… fueling speculation of a future signing with the company.

Deonna Purrazzo certainly is the fastest rising star in women’s pro wrestling!

However, all that exposure breeds jealously among her contemporaries. Recently, Deonna captured the Monster Factory Women’s Championship, defeating Super 8 competitor Miranda Vionette. So naturally when ECWA announced that she would defend her ECWA Women’s Championship against Vionette in January it raised a lot of eyebrows. Of course, Miranda Vionette would be hungry for revenge and look to steal the spotlight from the rising Purrazzo.

In a highly contested match, Vionette and Purrazzo went move for move but it was the champ taking home the victory in the end… they celebrated together in a mark of sportsmanship and respect…. Or so it seemed.

Vionette would deliver a brutal clothesline to Purrazzo leaving the exhausted champion helpless in the ring. Obviously, there is no respect there anymore. A simple raising of the ECWA Women’s Championship has made one thing clear… Miranda Vionette wants that championship!

What makes this even more interesting is the fact that later in the evening, Vionette was revealed to be the newest and first female member of the Pan Corp Agency… lead by the sleazy AJ Pan. Why did she join up with the PCA? Was she approached by Pan himself? Or is she so jealous of Deonna’s success, some of which is at her expense, that she’s willing to do anything… and I mean anything… to get to the mountaintop and take the ECWA Women’s Championship?

Deonna Purrazzo doesn’t care. Being a fighting champion, she immediately requested and was granted a return match for Saturday February 20 as ECWA presents “Winter Challenge” in New Castle, Delaware.

It’ll be Deonna Purrazzo vs. Miranda Vionette for the ECWA Women’s Championship.

Can Deonna continue the hottest streak in pro wrestling and once again prove why she’s getting all the attention she is?

Or will Vionette’s newfound alliance with the PCA prove to be the decided factor in her winning the ECWA Women’s Championship… thus stealing the spotlight from Purrazzo.

This will surely be a bitter fight with the ultimate prize on the line!

ECWA returns to New Castle, Delaware Sat Feb 20

Main Event set for February 20… Former friends now rivals collide!

The new year started off with a bang for everyone in ECWA! The first show of the year, New Year’s Resolutions V, was a rousing success… However, some things never change in the world of professional wrestling and especially the ECWA. The Pan Corp Agency is still sitting atop the mountain. Damian Adams and Ricky Martinez somehow weaseled their way into retaining their ECWA tag team championships vs. South Philly’s Finest, thanks in large part to new PCA member Miranda Vionette. The match was originally scheduled to be a 6 man match with SPF and their friend Bobby Shields taking on all 3 male members of the PCA. Due to a blizzard and a new date, Bobby Shields and PCA member Azrieal couldn’t attend the show. But that’s done little to slow down ECWA Mid Atlantic champion Bobby Shields’ temper and hatred towards his former friend Azrieal.

Fans might remember just a few months ago in November, ECWA made it’s return to the state of Delaware! It looked like a night of fun wrestling action… That is until the unthinkable happened. Azrieal, teaming with Shields to fight for the ECWA tag team titles, turned on his best friend! Not only did he betray his friend and cost them the match but he would be revealed to have joined the PCA that night!

Shields immediately went into a rampage and demanded ECWA management to let him get his hands on Az. They relented and let him defend the Mid Atlantic title at Toys for Tots in December. However, Az would get his PCA cronies to help him in the end and they delivered a beat down to the champion. SPF would aid Shields setting up what would have been a war! OF course, that war didn’t end up happening thanks to the aforementioned blizzard.

No sense in crying over spilled milk. ECWA is returning to the scene of the crime on Saturday February 20, 2016. The very same arena where Azrieal turned on Bobby Shields in the first place! The same arena where their years long friendship ended! ECWA is returning to the UAMC in New Castle, DE!

And guess who has demanded a rematch? That’s right! ECWA Mid Atlantic Champion Bobby Shields has asked for and been granted a rematch against Azrieal! He’s so confident he’s putting his championship on the line!

The ECWA faithful are behind Shields 100% but this will not be your ordinary match-up. The PCA will surely be lurking nearby. Adams, Martinez, Vionette, and the leader of the group AJ Pan being at ringside will make Shields need to have eyes in the back of his head!

ECWA security will surely have their hands full with this one!

Will Bobby Shields finally get some measure of revenge and send the PCA home with their tails between their legs?

Or will Azrieal deliver the final dagger and bring the PCA one step closer to owning all of the gold in ECWA?

These questions will surely be answered come Saturday February 20!

Here’s all the information about this exciting event coming to New Castle, DE in alittle over a week!

7th participant in the 20th Annual ECWA Super 8 Tournament is ………….

And the seventh participant in the ECWA All Star Super 8 is…

ECWA is one of the longest running independent wrestling promotions in the country. In the almost 50 years of history, top notch professional wrestling has always been the companies calling card. The men and women who have sacrificed their bodies for the ECWA faithful many times have become house hold names whether it’s been in WWE, TNA, ROH, or even around the world! One of the main reasons for that is the long running Super 8 Tournament… which is coming up on it’s 20 year anniversary! The Super 8 is a one day, single elimination tournament for the much sought after Super 8 trophy. And with victory comes the spoils… all of our winners get national magazine exposure which has often led to bigger and better things! Our winners and participants list reads likes a who’s who of today’s wrestling stars. Names like Austin Aries, Christopher Daniels, Matt & Jeff Hardy, Low Ki, WWE’s Xavier Woods, and perhaps the biggest name to never win the tournament, former WWE champion Daniel Bryan! How’s that for a lasting legacy? The Super 8 has been copied and replicated dozens of times over the years since the 1997 inaugural show. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery and ECWA is proud of it’s history of innovation!

20 years… that’s a long time for anything to last. So ECWA management wanted to do something special to celebrate  this HUGE occasion that the fans would truly enjoy. What innovation come out of this brain storming? It’s been announced that on Saturday April, 23, 2016 it will be an ALL STAR EDITION of the tournament! The only men who will be selected to participate are past winners and participants. That means ANYTHING can happen! ANYONE from the past could be in this year’s tournament. Maybe a chance at redemption for those that fell just short!

Six participants have been announced… 2015 champion Jason ’The Gift’ Kincaid, former ECWA champion and 2012 winner ’Greek God’ Papadon, 2014 Super 8 Finalist ’Southern Savior’ John Skyler, and TNA star- 2006 Super 8 champion ’The Lone Wolf’ Davey Richards, ECWA Heavyweight Champion ‘Hybrid’ Sean Carr, and TNA star Robbie E.

And now the SEVENTH MAN in the field of eight has been made official!

Part of the All Star Super 8 is celebrating the history and legacy of the Super 8 tournament.  We wanted to pay homage to the men who paved the way for the current crop of superstars in the world of professional wrestling. And what better way to pay those respects that have one of those men fight in this year’s tournament!

This man was in the FIRST AND SECOND EVER SUPER 8 TOURNAMENTS in 1997 and 1998. In fact, he did battle with indy icon Ace Darling in both years and was a FINALIST in 1998. He’s one of the most highly respected men to ever grace a wrestling ring. He’s had a decorated career appearing for ROH, Deep South Wrestling, and even signed a WWE developmental contract with OVW (WWE’s farm system at the time). In ECWA, he’s a former Mid Atlantic, Tag Team, and Heavyweight Champion.

His toughness and willingness to do almost anything to break down his opponent is legendary. He’s by far and away the most experienced man to EVER take part in a Super 8 Tournament… with a storied career going that’s went well over 20+ years! His ring prowess was given to him by his well known and respected trainers Bill Demott and “Iron” Mike Sharpe.

That man has been known by many names… INFERNO, THE INFERNO KID, DANNY INFERNO, but saying the name DANNY GIMONDO will bring smiles to the face of any wrestling junkie.

The other 7 men in this tournament will have a hard time beating down this wily veteran who has literally seen it all. He very well could steal this tournament and win the trophy that eluded him 18 years ago!

That is why ECWA is always on the cutting edge of innovation in the pro wrestling industry… you never know when you’ll see history in the making or WHO will show up!

This is GROUND BREAKING NEWS that will shake independent wrestling to it’s core! The ALL STAR SUPER 8 TOURNAMENT is going to be the BIGGEST SHOW in independent wrestling history when it’s all said and done, and you can bank on it. Saturday April 23 is a date to mark on your calendar ASAP!

Longtime veteran Danny Gimondo is the seventh man in the tournament. History on the line… who could possibly be the next entrant announced?

If past history is any indication ECWA management is cooking up something spectacular at this very moment! Stay tuned to all ECWA channels for news on ECWA shows and most importantly all news regarding the All Star Super 8 Tournament!

6th Participant in the 20th Annual ECWA Super 8 Tournament is……..

Number 6 in the All Star Super 8 Tournament announced

The only men who will be selected to participate are past winners and participants. That means ANYTHING can happen! ANYONE from the past could be in this year’s tournament. Maybe a chance at redemption for those that fell just short!

Five participants have been announced… 2015 champion Jason ’The Gift’ Kincaid, former ECWA champion and 2012 winner ’Greek God’ Papadon, 2014 Super 8 Finalist ’Southern Savior’ John Skyler, and TNA star- 2006 Super 8 champion ’The Lone Wolf’ Davey Richards, and ECWA Heavyweight Champion ‘Hybrid’ Sean Carr.

And now the SIXTH MAN in the field of eight has been made official!

This man got his start in the ECWA… he was a former ECWA Mid Atlantic Champion, a former 2 time ECWA tag team champion, and an ECWA Hall of Famer. He was a quarter finalist in the 2007 ECWA Super 8 Tournament. Right now he is a star in TNA! There he’s a former X-Division champion, a former 2 time TNA tag team champion, and a former Television champion.

He’s been a valedictorian, a “Platinum Poppa”, and a BroMan from the jersey shore.

He is none other than TNA star ROBBIE E!

Robbie E has made a name for himself over the years doing characters that often get under fans’ skin. He’s been called brash and even an egomaniac! However, for all the flash and flamboyant behavior he’s steadily upped his game inside the ring and is always ranked as one of the best professional wrestlers in the world by PWI Magazine. Robbie’s ability to mold himself to whatever style is his opponents weakness has been his biggest staple over his stellar 15 year career. He can out power you, out speed you, and even out smart even the best ring generals.

The proof is in the pudding! He’s won championship after championship whatever company he wrestled for. His flashy self image has even led him to appear on a season of CBS acclaimed show The Amazing Race! He finished in fourth in the competition!

Robbie E fell short in his last chance at winning the tournament and is joining a field that includes five other of the best pro wrestlers to ever compete in the Super 8 Tournament.

Could it be the year that Robbie E adds yet another astounding honor to his already amazing career? The All Star Super 8 Tournament is shaping up to easily be the biggest and best in the 20 year history of the tournament!

That is why ECWA is always on the cutting edge of innovation in the pro wrestling industry… you never know when you’ll see history in the making!

TNA star Robbie E is the sixth participant. History on the line… who could possibly be the next entrant announced?

Fifth participant announced for Super 8: A champ enters the fray

ECWA is one of the longest running independent wrestling promotions in the country. In the almost 50 years of history, top notch professional wrestling has always been the companies calling card. The men and women who have sacrificed their bodies for the ECWA faithful many times have become house hold names whether it’s been in WWE, TNA, ROH, or even around the world!

Four participants have been announced… 2015 champion Jason ’The Gift’ Kincaid, former ECWA champion and 2012 winner ’Greek God’ Papadon, 2014 Super 8 Finalist ’Southern Savior’ John Skyler, and TNA star- 2006 Super 8 champion ’The Lone Wolf’ Davey Richards.

And now we have the FIFTH man to enter the fray!

He’s battled some of the very best in professional wrestling in promotions like 2cw, Xcite wrestling, and lately MCW but the ECWA universe knows this man very, very well. He’s a former ECWA tag team champion and the CURRENT ECWA Heavyweight Champion… he is the ‘HYBRID’ SEAN CARR!

Carr is as well known for his loud mouth as he is his wrestling prowess. Make no mistake though… he has the power to match almost any men in the business while also having the speed to fly around the ring like a luchador. He can go blow for blow with almost ANYONE! When you think of Sean Carr one word comes to mind… resourceful. He is one of the hardest men to defeat and rarely misses one of his opponents weaknesses. Carr presents and interesting challenge to the other participants. With his uncanny ability to talk his way under any opponents skin… could an opportunity to steal the Super 8 trophy present itself out of anger? It surely will be an interesting side note to watch during the tournament!

For those that don’t remember, Carr was a participant in the 2015 Super 8 Tournament as well. Only one other time did a man enter the tournament and lose; than the following year win the Super 8 trophy.  Last year his performance was said to be almost show stealing and you can bet that he’s hungry to duplicate that performance and STEAL the spotlight from the 7 other men!

That is why ECWA is always on the cutting edge of innovation in the pro wrestling industry… you never know when you’ll see history in the making!

ECWA Heavyweight Champion Sean Carr is the fifth participant. History on the line… who could possibly be the next entrant announced?

If past history is any indication ECWA management is cooking up something spectacular at this very moment! Stay tuned to all ECWA channels for news on ECWA shows and most importantly all news regarding the All Star Super 8 Tournament!
