ECWA Toys for Tots Show December 5 Matt Saigon vs. Sean Carr Iron Man Match

ECWA is preparing for the holidays in the only way we know how! Saturday December 5, 2015 is our yearly tradition of collecting for the US Marines Toys for Tots toy drive… and the night’s card to celebrate is shaping up to an unprecedented night of amazing professional wrestling and scores settled.

Sean Carr and Matt Saigon hate each other. Over the last few months, the ring, ECWA management, the ring crew, and even the fans can’t contain this war over the prestigious ECWA heavyweight championship, or ‘Big Red’ as it’s affectionately known. Carr has a way out of every situation it seems and almost always has the words to make you know it. The resilient champion Matt Saigon has battled tooth and nail to keep his championship. It has made for quite possibly the most heated rivalry in ECWA history!

The most recent battle on November 21 was thought to be the final straw. It was ECWA’s return to the state of Delaware. 2 referees officiating so no questionable calls could be made. There would be one winner once and for all! But once again, as has been the case with Carr and Saigon, they were so evenly matched a double pin occurred and both men were declared winners. Unfortunately for Sean Carr though, that would mean the champion retains his championship! Carr would go berserk!

First he would lay out Matt Saigon with a Tombstone piledriver. Then he would superkick both referee John Finegan and Mike Kehner. Then as ECWA booker Joe Zanolle tried to get ’Big Red’ back so Saigon could be revived enough to make his way back to the locker room he too was super kicked! The situation wasn’t even close to being over! Carr would also assault most of the ECWA security/ ring crew as well! Carnage all over ECWA’s return to the state of Delaware!

Needless to say, ECWA management isn’t thrilled by Sean Carr’s actions and have considered suspending and even firing him. But Joe Zanolle has a different plan in mind. Fully confident in the abilities of Matt Saigon to finish Sean Carr for good, he has made a match rarely seen in an ECWA ring and in indy pro wrestling in general… an IRON MAN MATCH.

You’ve read that correctly… Zanolle has announced the true final battle…. Matt Saigon will defend his ECWA heavyweight championship against Sean Carr in a 30 minute IRON MAN MATCH! The rules are simple. Whoever has the highest score (points gained by pinfall and submission) when the time limit is reached will be declared the winner and ECWA Heavyweight Champion!

The story of Matt Saigon and Sean Carr will have it’s final chapter come Saturday December 5 as ECWA presents Toys for Tots! This will not be for the faint hearted. Management, officials, and security will be on high alert as this could get ugly and fast!

Will Matt Saigon write his name in ECWA history as one of the most resilient champions ever?

Or will Sean Carr get the last laugh and walk out with ‘Big Red’?

Be there to witness history in the making!

Panel Predictions for ECWA 4 Life

ECWA returns to New Castle, Delaware on Saturday, November 21, 2015 with ECWA 4 Life. Each month, a panel of “experts” will weigh in on the matches, providing their own unique insight.

Consensus: 50/50

ECWA Heavyweight Championship – Matt Saigon (c) vs. Sean Carr
AJ Pan (Pan Corp. Agency): Sean Carr is the rightful ECWA Heavyweight Champion. More corruption from the front office has taken this accolade away from him. Regardless of this, Carr will come out as the Champion!
Brady Hicks (Voice of ECWA): Saigon wins in a classic battle.
Tom Lyons (Indy Roundup): Matt Saigon retains his belt.
Sean Blake / Rich Concannon (Team Pop ‘n Fresh): Carr defeats Saigon with an assist from John Finegan. Yes, we predict Finegan will help Carr and become heel ref.

Consensus: Deonna Purrazzo

ECWA Women’s Championship – Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. Terra Callaway
AJ Pan: While Terra has the size and is an impressive individual, I have to pick Deonna to retain the Women’s Championship. Even though the title should still be a part of the PCA, Deonna is always welcome to the Agency.
Brady Hicks: Deonna submits Terra Callaway.
Tom Lyons: Deonna, keeps her belt in a knock-down, drag-out cat fight.
Pop ‘n Fresh: Deonna makes Terra tap out.

Consensus: Team PCA

ECWA Tag Team Championship – Team PCA (c) vs. The Extreme Rednecks vs. Bobby Shields & Azrieal
AJ Pan: There is no question that my clients Ricky Martinez & Damian Adams will retain the ECWA Tag Team Championships. While I respect The Extreme Rednecks, we saw chinks in the armor. Bobby Shields and Azriel are a make shift team, and lets face it, Azriel shouldn’t be in this match, let alone the United States.
Brady Hicks: Extreme Rednecks present a once-again unified front to win back the tag team title.
Tom Lyons: PCA comes in. No one knows them and they wil walk out with the titles.
Pop ‘n Fresh: PCA retains, Rednecks implode.

Consensus: Zac Conner

Anything Goes Match – “Heart Killer” Chris Wylde vs. Zac “The Ripper” Conner
AJ Pan: This is going to be a hard fought and tough match. One thing is for certain, you do not cross “The Boss” Michael Tartaglia and his new wrecking machine of Zac Conner, will uphold the honor of the man in charge!
Brady Hicks: Chris Wylde finally bests Zac Conner.
Tom Lyons: I like Wylde, but The Ripper finds a way to win.
Pop ‘n Fresh: Wylde and Conner in a no contest as they can not be controlled again. They brawl all throughout the venue

Consensus: 50/50

Breaker Morant vs. “Madman” Mark Harro
AJ Pan: A tough match to call. Morant caused me to feel the pain of Matt Saigon’s Ace Crusher and put me out of action. I’m looking for Harro to pull out the victory.
Brady Hicks: After brutal a barbed-wire baseball bat match in September, who can beat Breaker Morant?
Tom Lyons: I know Harro from way back. You have to watch him. He will come out from the crowd to win this one.
Pop ‘n Fresh:  Breaker wins.

Consensus: 50/50

Showcase Match – Shockwave the Robot vs. JD “Bamm Bamm” Browning
AJ Pan: What in the world is a Shockwave?! Is it like a super enhanced microwave? No matter what it is, it will not defeat Mr. Browning. Shockwave will be “Drowning” by the end of this matchup.
Brady Hicks: Shockwave defeats Browning.
Tom Lyons: Shockwave the dancing machine wins this one hands down.
Pop ‘n Fresh: Browning wins / out-dances Shockwave.

Consensus: Cory Kastle

Josh Adams vs. Cory Kastle
AJ Pan: Cory Kastle, no question, plain and simple. Kastle had blood pouring from his head the last time we saw him and now he has blood in his eyes. He will be looking to make an example of Josh Adams.
Brady Hicks: Look for Cory Kastle to get a measure of revenge against the ECWA newcomer, getting himself back on track in the process.
Tom Lyons: Josh Adams … tuff cookie but no match for Cory Kastle, [who will] do anything to win.
Pop ‘n Fresh: Adams/Kastle wrestle to a draw in a classic bout.

Sean Carr Rants Online

Some thoughts before ECWA Saturday night in New Castle, Delaware…

1.) I don’t care how many referees there are, I’m walking out ECWA Champion..

2.) Joe Zanolle won’t be able to reverse a decision when I Pin Sài Gòn in the MIDDLE of the ring..

3.) To all the ECWA fans, I don’t need or want you’re support. You ALL make me sick to my stomach. You all are without a doubt the biggest bunch of Morons that I have EVER seen in my life.. After all, most of you call each other Team Pop N Fresh.. That’s stupid. You’re stupid. If I could, I would Superkick all of you like I did John Finegan.

4.) I hate Delaware with a passion.

So with that being said. I do NOT look forward to seeing any of you this weekend. But I do look forward to defeating Saigon and rubbing it in all of you’re ugly faces.

JD “Bamm Bamm” Browning on IN THE ROOM (VOC Nation)

This week, JD “Bamm Bamm” Browning from the ECWA steps IN THE ROOM on to talk about his upcoming match with Shockwave The Robot this Saturday at ECWA 4 Ever in New Castle, Delaware. What are Browning’s thoughts on his controversial statements toward his opponent, his current place in the ECWA, and where he would like to be in the future? Plus, Brady Hicks, The Stro (WCW’s Maestro), Kathie Fitz, and Derrick McDonald talk the controversial Charlotte/Paige promo from WWE Raw, preview Survivor Series this Sunday, and take calls on the open phone lines for two full hours. All that, plus so … much … more! Thanks, as always, for the support.

JD Browning Fires Back at Shockwave

ECWA has had it’s share of colorful, flamboyant, and even downright weird characters inside it’s ring over the last 48 years. It’s made for some interesting matches that have provided just as many laughs as shocking moments.

On Saturday November, 21 at ECWA 4-Ever it’s the long awaited return to the state of Delaware. Fans have asked and asked when the company would return to it’s home for the first 47 years of it’s existence and now they get their wish! ECWA management went right to work thinking of new matches to make this show even more MUST SEE than usual.

And what came out of this brainstorming? This is perhaps the craziest and interesting match-up that has ever been cooked up in ECWA history! It’s the return of SHOCKWAVE THE ROBOT! Shockwave has long been one of the most interesting characters on the independent wrestling scene. He’s made quite the name for himself traveling around the country, world, and even the galaxy perfecting his craft of dancing and wrestling. He’s no slouch in the ring either. His prowess made him famous in Japan and earned him a spot in the 2011 ECWA Super 8 Tournament.

And on the other side is ‘Bamm Bamm’ JD Browning. The strutting, loud mouthed Browning has made himself maybe the most hated man in the ECWA. He’s teamed up with The Boss making life miserable for everyone including most notably fan favorite Tessa Blanchard. He has spurned fans cheers and always has a quip for anyone who dares to cross paths with him on a bad day. And today is one of those bad days…

Upon learning he was matched up against Shockwave he immediately took to social media expressing his displeasure. In his mind, how could a superstar of his caliber be forced to have wrestle someone pretending to be a robot? Even more insulting to Browning was Shockwave’s headline billing over him. His voices all of this in a video statement:

Shockwave has been mostly silent beside’s expressing his gratitude for returning to ECWA. He has shared a video of himself training for the match but has left the talking to Bamm Bamm. Which is just fine by him. Bamm Bamm has clearly stated he will out dance and out wrestle Shockwave. Obviously, he isn’t impressed and will surely be angry and not up to the antics that Shockwave usually employs to frustrate his opponents. This could get ugly fast!

All of this adds a whole new level of intrigue into the most interesting contest in ECWA history! It’ll be full of moments that NO ONE in attendance will ever forget!

With Shockwave returning will he wrestle and/or dance his way to victory? It will surely start the party in New Castle for sure!

Or will JD Browning cement himself as the superstar he calls himself with a big win? Everyone in the building could very well be “Drowning in Browning” by the end of the night!

You won’t want to miss this amazing match and all of the night’s action as ECWA returns to Delaware on Saturday, November 21! BROWNING VS SHOCKWAVE THE ROBOT! BE THERE TO SEE IT LIVE!

ECWA’s Joe Zanolle Updates Title Situation

I apologize that I have been occupied this week with personal matters, but I did not forget that one Sean Carr was due to return the ECWA Heavyweight Championship belt this past Tues by 1159 PM EST. Not only did Sean not return the belt, but he made no honest effort to do so, and quite frankly mocked my decision blantly. Therefore, Mr. Carr needs to bring two things Sat, Nov 21 to New Castle, Delaware … 1. The ECWA Heavyweight Championship belt, and 2. his checkbook, as he will be receiving a penalty, monetary fine for ignoring my order to return the belt. If Mr. Carr does not pay the fine by the end of the night on Sat, Nov 21, he will be suspended from ECWA for 90 days!

ECWA Press Release: Heavyweight Title Situation

The ECWA Heavyweight Championship, or ‘Big Red’ as it’s affectionately known, has had it’s lion share of men battling tooth and nail for the right to be called champion. So with it’s near 50 year history it comes as no surprise that controversy once again surrounds a recent decision crowning a new ECWA Heavyweight Champion.

It was just a few weeks ago when defending champion Matt Saigon competed against Sean Carr in a classic title bout. Back and forth we went until after a whirlwind series of events that took place at the end of the match. Carr would accidentally hit referee John Finegan with an errant Superkick rendering him unconscious and unable to make a count in the event of a pin. Both men would have pins that would have won the match but with no referee the match couldn’t end. Enter Mike Kehner who ran down to the ring to officiate the contest. Carr would hit Saigon with a Tombstone piledriver like move and make the pin fall attempt! 1…2…3! We had a new champion! Or did we? As fans called out… even security made an attempt to notify Kehner of his mistake. Apparently, right before the count of 3 Saigon had put his foot on the bottom rope that would have broken any pinfall attempt! However, the decision was final and the referee had NOT seen the foot on the rope. We had a NEW ECWA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!

Immediately Matt Saigon and fans flooded ECWA matchmaker/president Joe Zanolle with complaints about the ending. There was only one thing to do. Zanolle poured over video evidence and pictures from the event and it was true! The match should not have ended! Sean Carr should have not been awarded the ECWA championship. Here’s the official statement released by Joe Zanolle in light of this new evidence:

The bad part about being a decision maker is you are never going to make everyone happy and someone will always question you. But, you have to go with your gut feeling… Since Sean Carr defeated Matt Saigon for the ECWA Heavyweight Championship on Oct 17, I have been inundated with correspondences saying that Saigon’s foot was on the rope when Referee Mike Kehner (subbing for Senior Referee John Finegan who was knocked down during the match) made the 3 count for Carr and ruled him the winner and new champion. Then I started receiving photographic evidence. And now I have the video footage. So I talked to both Referee Mike Kehner and John Finegan last week. As evidence by his ruling, Kehner did not see the foot on the rope. John Finegan, however, revealed that he indeed did see Saigon’s foot on the bottom rope and as he was regaining his senses from an errant Sean Carr superkick. As a former referee myself, I am old school and the referee’s decision is final. If you take that authority away from the referee, every decision will be questioned. But, I also believe that there are always exceptions to the rules and that every situation is unique. In this case, the assigned referee for the match DID see the foot, but the substitute referee did not and made the count. Again, whatever decision I make will be questioned and I can’t make everybody happy, but I have come to a decision.

Effective immediately, I am revoking the ruling of Mike Kehner in this match. Due to photographic, video evidence, overwhelming eye witness accounts and the account of the assigned referee John Finegan, Matt Saigon’s foot was indeed on the rope. Therefore I am ruling the match a NO CONTEST and Matt Saigon retains and still is the ECWA Heavyweight Champion!

Also …

1. I am requesting that Sean Carr return the physical ECWA Heavyweight Championship belt to me in 7 calendar days (no later than Tues, Nov 3 by 11:59 PM EST).

2. I am signing a rematch with the two to main event the ECWA 4 LIFE!- The Homecoming, Sat, Nov 21 at the Asbury UMC in New Castle, Delaware, with champion Matt Saigon defending against challenger Sean Carr. Also, in an effort to avoid any future discrepancies, I am officially assigning two referees to officiate this match. Both referees will work in accordance with each other in officiating and ruling on the outcome of the match!”

You have heard that correctly. ECWA management is awarding the ECWA Heavyweight Championship back to Matt Saigon! There will be a REMATCH at ECWA 4 Ever on Saturday November 21, 2015 but with 2 REFEREES so this can never happen again! The problem is Sean Carr has been defiant in the face of this news. You can hear his full statement here:

ECWA management has given him 7 days to give back the championship or risk severe punishment. Carr of course has refused thus far. What will happen with a rematch looming over the horizon in just a few weeks?

Can Matt Saigon this time retain his championship?

Will Sean Carr once again shock the world and win ‘Big Red’?

Will Carr even make it to the event with this possible punishment coming his way?

One thing’s for certain this is going to be a classic contest fought between a powerful champion and cocky challenger! This match could very well be the best ECWA Heavyweight title match in ECWA history!

Stay tuned to ECWA on Facebook and for daily updates on the night’s action.
